How do I build up a Natural Tan without Burning?

Okay, So at the moment its winter, but still, I was with my friend and he was paying me out about how pasty I am, which is true, and I want to know how to get a good natural tan, not laying in tanning beds or spay tans, cause I have no money. I burn super easy, so is there a way to get a natural good looking tan on my original pasty skin. Help Please I want to be attractive!
